About Me

Hi, my name is Florimond.

I am a design-trained (B.A. in Industrial Design) creative professional with experience in design and project management across a diverse range of industries such as animation, logistics, advertising and education. You can see some of my previous work here.

Currently working at Singapore Polytechnic's Fab Lab, I am an innovative problem-solver who enjoys creating interesting narratives to bring ideas to life. This is the reason why I am excited to join the Fab Academy programme, as I believe it will help me learn the required skills to realize my dream - To one day see a toy that I designed on a store shelf.

Below is a project that I made which is a miniature of a void deck* table which is commonly found in Singapore's public housing blocks.  I 3d printed the structure and then pasted on the laser cut acrylic tiles.  The reference image (Below - left) I used shows some red and white tape which was meant to prevent people from gathering at the void deck tables during the time of the COVID pandemic.

*A void deck is an open space on the ground floor of Housing and Development Board (HDB) public housing buildings in Singapore. Void decks are a common area for residents to gather, play, and host events.
