Manzi Armel

Master’s in IT & Digital Fabrication · Systems Developer · Program Lead, Product & Prototype Development

Kigali City, Rwanda

Bridging the gap between concept and creation — hardware-aware systems development, makerspace operations, and multidisciplinary product delivery.

Profile

I hold a Master’s degree in Information Technology, with focus areas in database and network administration, software engineering, object-oriented programming, operating systems, Java, mobile computing, and web development. Strong foundations in mathematical sciences — including probability theory and automata theory — support how I approach complex ICT problems.

My career spans software development, ICT planning and procurement, network fundamentals, and institutional IT policy. I currently lead IT operations and product & prototype development programs at UNIPOD Rwanda (University of Rwanda), where I operationalize makerspace and laboratory facilities, support research and innovation teams, and keep critical infrastructure secure and reliable.

Through Fab Academy 2025, I am deepening expertise in digital fabrication — connecting software, electronics, and physical making to deliver practical systems such as MAKERGATE, a smart power access control solution for maker spaces. I also contribute to the global UNLEASH innovation community as a hack host at UniPod Rwanda and as a prototyping mentor for international teams.
