About me

I’m İsmail Sevik, an 18-year-old senior at Hisar School in Istanbul, Turkey, and I will be studying mechanical engineering at Boston University starting in Fall 2025. I’m the captain of my school’s FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team and a passionate maker. From a young age, I’ve been taking things apart, repurposing components, and building projects at Idealab, my school’s maker space. I specialize in CNC machining, CAD design, and robotics, leading my team through competitions and hands-on engineering challenges. Beyond engineering, I enjoy mentoring younger students and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Project X
At the end of this journey, I will have completed my project named ‘x’. This page will serve as a platform to document my experiences during Fab Academy and how the x project has evolved. Each week, I encountered achievements and setbacks, all integral parts of an experience filled with the “make, fail, learn, repeat” approach. I am here to share this exciting journey with you.
