With the Inventor Thread Tool the only thing you get is to make a "visual" thread in your designs, it is still a simple cylinder with a painted thread, it is not really a thread
Threads in Inventor
To make functional threads in Inventos, we will draw 2 parallel lines perpendicular to the plane where we want to make the thread, clearly, they are only a guide to paint a triangle, which will be the real protagonist of the occasion, just as this figure shows. With that triangle they will use the Coil tool and configuring it as a cutter will obtain a useful thread.
