Daniela Monterrubio Palma

Hey! I am Daniela Monterrubio Palma. I am currently studying 6th semester of biomedical engineering at Iberoamericana University in Puebla. Among the different areas within this engineering, the one I am interested the most is clinical engineering and instrumentation. However, I also have hobbies, such as reading, playing sports and spending time with friends.

Previous work

I attended high school at Madero Mexican Institute. There we had computer aided design with Solid Edge, Excel courses and a little about web design. Already at the university, I have had more complex projects. The first one was about a culturing technique for Daphnia spp. Then I had projects more related with my career, all of them done with teammates. The other projects were a lower limb exoskeleton and the mechanical part of a 3D printer.

Project I am Proud of

The project I am proud the most is the one about the culturing technique for Daphnia spp. The complexity of this project had to do with the fact that we were working with living beings. For this we had to look for the best place to work with them taking into account the temperature. Then we had to make a daily routine in order to feed them, clean their containers, measure their pH and temperature, and count them. The last activity was the one telling us how the reproduction was going on. Later on, we measured their heart rate, since the objective of the project was to have standardized organisms for a bioessay with ethanol observing the impact of the mentioned substance in their heart rate.
