about me

Hi! I am Andrea and I am currently in my last year studying Industrial Design in Universidad Iberoamericana de Puebla. I have participated in several design contests and competitions, along with my team I received the prize “Premio Nacional de Diseño: Diseña MX” 2022 under the category of service and experience design. I have also been recenly accepted by the WDO (World Design Organization) as part of the Young Designers Circle 2023 - 2025 collaborators. I believe in design as a driver of social change, promoting inclusion, equity, and sustainability. My passion lies in projects that have a positive impact on my surroundings and create innovative solutions that improve life and the world around us.

Previous work

I take great pride in the three projects showcased below. Each project addresses important social issues, but they all have unique solutions. I am confident that these projects not only demonstrate my skills and versatility as a designer but also reflect my unique approach to addressing social problematics.

Neru

Neru was developed to highlight the crucial role that sleep plays in people's overall well-being, emphasizing prevention and self-care as fundamental aspects of health. The goal is to assist young adults in establishing healthy sleep habits and routines. Neru comprises a device, an interactive diary, and a digital platform, all working together to enhance awareness and promote better sleep practices. To guide users away from distractions that may disrupt their routines, Neru uses a visual signal with expressive eye displays, indicating the ideal time to begin using the device and initiate their routine. There are three audio categories: sleep habits, self-care, and relaxation, each serving distinct purposes to contribute to quality rest.

De gota en Gota

De gota en gota "Drop by Drop" addresses the lack of water for people located in urban peripheries in the state of Puebla. The proposal consists of two applications: the first, Drop by Drop for sidewalks, is designed for emerging peripheries where urban planning is possible. While Drop by Drop for roofs is designed to be used in local schools as well as other communal spaces. The amount extracted is defined through an established model for the communities organization and management of this resource. This design seeks to strengthen the identity of the community through collaboration, communication and interaction between members.
