Fab Academy Student Agreement

  1. *The Fab Academy is responsible for:*
  2. - Teaching principles and practices of digital fabrication
  3. - Arranging lectures, recitations, meetings, and events for the class
  4. - Evaluating and providing feedback on student work
  5. - Offering clear standards for completing assignments
  6. - Certifying and archiving student progress
  7. - Supervising class preparation
  8. - Reviewing prospective students, instructors, and labs
  9. - Providing central staff and infrastructure for students, instructors, and labs
  10. - Fund-raising for costs not covered by student tuition
  11. - Managing and reporting on the program's finances, results, and impacts
  12. - Publicizing the program
  13. - Promoting a respectful environment free of harassment and discrimination
  14. - Encourage a diverse, accessible, and equitable community
  15. *I am a Fab Academy student, responsible for:*
  16. - Attending class lectures and participating in reviews
  17. - Developing and documenting projects assigned to introduce and demonstrate skills
  18. - Allowing the Fab Academy to share my work (with attribution) in the class for purposes compatible with its mission
  19. - Honestly reporting on my work, and appropriately attributing the work of others (both human and machine)
  20. - Working safely
  21. - Leaving workspaces in the same (or better) condition than I found them
  22. - Participating in the upkeep of my lab
  23. - Ensuring that my tuition for local and central class costs is covered
  24. - Following locally applicable health and safety guidance
  25. - Promoting a respectful environment free of harassment and discrimination
