Principles & Practices

The first class of the course started with an introduction and a summary of what we were going to do in the whole course... I found myself in a world class Fab lab.

I liked the idea of being connected with different people and at the same time... It's a wonderful experience.

Neil talked about how crossing the boundary between digital and physical and the the whole concept of Fablabs making fablabs really fascinated me.

This was a small part of the conference:

Final idea of the project

For my final project, I had ideas that were either too ambitious or too simple. After Neil talked about the development, I understood how I should approach the final project. After a lot...a lot of thinking, I finally settled on a piggy bank.

In my house there are children, mostly they play with cars and well I thought, why not make a truck that allows them to get on it and be able to manipulate it in addition to being able to move something.

Who will use it?

My initial target are children.

This toy will have a battery of solar panels.

So the piggy bank won...yeeee...😃

Here we go with the project:
Well, if you have children at home, you know what it's like to want to encourage saving from a very young age. OK I'm not Davinci... 😌

Why did I choose this project?

Well, as I already mentioned, I have many children at home, and they are always asking for things, or they spend the tip they have very quickly, so I decided to make a piggy bank that is:

  1. Interactive
  2. They can learn by playing
  3. Novel

How does it work?

Well, my piggy bank will have a button, to be able to turn it on, so start saving, it will have dates to make the deposit and if you forget it, it will have a mechanism that will open the coins that it keeps inside and it will have a normal charger.

I will use a plate of disco lights as a model ..... I hope it works.

What I learned?

First of all to keep an order, since I didn't have much free time because of work, my house cost me a lot to be able to adapt to a rhythm that allows me to move forward, but I am already managing to have a more organized schedule.
I can also say that I finally have a more accessible and comfortable space to work without anyone bothering or interrupting me, and above all I already have the necessary tools to be able to continue advancing and learning about digital fabrication.
