kerf test generator

cutout width: mm
cutout depth: mm
kerfs: mm
preview scale: :1

instructions

fill out the form above, then press 'make' to generate an SVG. You can save the SVG using the 'save SVG' button. For every value of 'kerfs', a slot with the given width/depth (and accounting for the kerf) is cut into the edge. You can use this to test different kerf values for different fits (friction fit, loose fit, ...). You can use the '???' fields to note the speed/power/ppi values used when doing cutting tests in the 'c' (cut) column, and the green squares and the 'g' (engrave) column for engraving samples. There is also a straight cut into the material on the bottom left, which can be used to directly measure the kerf using a feeler gauge.
