Week 1: Principles and Practice

Assignment

Make a sketch of your final project

Brainstorm

What are my options?

1. Modular lamp - lego shaped?
2. Music box - how does arduino go in?
3. Electric-longboard - can I make it?
4. Board game - what kind of functions?
5. MIDI drum pad - Can I even use it?

Research: Is it possible? (Links to each in "links" section)

1. Modular lamp

There is already a beautiful one.

2. Music box

Maybe smaller

3. Electric-longboard

It might be better to just get a kit.

4. Board game

Looks like a lot of fun, quite unecessary

5. MIDI drum pad

Super cool, perhaps I can add it to the music box.

What I did...

MUSICBOX

Using IR LED
Adafruit?
Ultrasonic sensor?
I will draw a better, more detailed sketch later

Week 6

SMART HELMET

I decided to change my final project because I was very inspired by the movie,
'How to train your Dragon 3" and I really liked my sketch.

I want to make a helmet where the spike parts light up like the dragon "Toothless"
Using Photosensor to make it light up when there isn't enough light.
I am hoping to be able to control more of the light via phone, to do other LED combinations.
Steps that I need to take would be to make a helmet(composite), the spikes (mold cast)
install LED strip, decide on power source (and where to put it)
and cover it with leather.

WARNING

You might have the same problem as me, wanting to do too much or not knowing what my (or arduino's) capabilities are. Looking up different projects that are already out there as well as different final projects from past Fab Academy students will help greatly.
