Week 17: Machine Design

Individual assignment

This week we will complete the design of the machine and correct some mistakes.

Design

The wiring designs between the engines and the route of the x-y axes were completed.

Fig.01 - CNC

As an extra design, design a box that will serve as protection for the drivers and board of the CNC. The design was made in the rhino program and the pieces were exported in dxf to be cut in the laser machine.

To establish a rigid connection between the axes of the motors, design support pieces for the cables.

These fit perfectly without getting in the way of CNC parts.

For the cables of the z-axis, a piece that works under pressure was designed, the union of the cable support generates pushes the internal walls of the piece which allows to work as a hook and remains rigid in the aluminum rail. In addition, when cutting the base, the support of the X-Y axes cables that are based on the CNC was created.
