Mechanics
For this assignment we have to build a machine with theMTM, MTM is a modular axis system thet permit to make many kind of machines simply combining the axis. We bought 4 Gestalt and because in Opendot lab we are 10 persons, we decided to make 2 different 2 axis machines

I worked most on the lathe designing all the 3D parts of the project. I designed all the parts in Rhinoceros, the parts are very simple although the mechanism is a little complex

Mandrel Support wit the place for 608 bearings. this piece have to block the M8 because the M8 screw have to rotate linked an a drill
This is the opposite support for the opposite side
I made also the countertip that always turn free, I designed two version adding one divided in two parts to allow to pint with every 3d printers
I draw the handle to put closer the block tip, the handhold is made by hand with a little piece of wood
this is the countertip design and the mandrel. For the mandrel I designed 3 version so it is possible using it on various materials. In the 3rd version there are cross holes to put inside some wood screw to hold very soft materials.
The late is controlled by gestalt Node linked with a Fabnet.
