About Me

Electronics engineering and computer science background but with a deep practical interest in mechanical. Like many others who are in the 40’s, I started on a Z80 building my own computer platforms in early 1980s.  Have built up, sold and funded a number of internet, mobile, tech and media businesses, the first was in 1993. Majority of my working career has been building early stage growth businesses or investing, with only a very short corporate career.

Currently co – founder of FABLAB London with Ande Gregson who is also on the Fab Academy course this year.

Why now?

I have the opportunity to give back to the same community I have come from and there is an amazing alignment in terms of where tools, machines, platforms and learning are heading.

—–  Interesting fact.

Did not get on with school as dyslexic and probably on a number of other scales, which means I think differently [and that really annoys my wife and daughters], but I don’t have a basic English qualification and lied to get into university.
