This week is about so software and design of my final product.
I'm interested in open source software and I have try and looked at many applications. There are - and +. I ´m a thatcher in multimedia school and I use software 2d adobe illustrator, photoshop, after effect and premiere and from 3d software I'm using autodesk Maya, max, motionbuilder, mudbox and more.
Sofware;
Bitmap software; gimp is a good program and I can do almost same thing that I will do in Photoshop in gimp you just need to do more steps to do similar things. in my work ideas of the final project I did start on working with Mypaint, good software with many good brushes, I´m using wacom tablet and there was a delay in my pen so I give up quickly to use it, but interesting software. My first sketches I did for my final project I did in page which is free app for ipad, its just like using paper and pen.
Vector; inkscape is a good program. Inkscape vs illustrator; I think the foundation is the same and similar options just more stuff in illustrator. I did draw my final project in inkscape, I was thinking sizes and function, my puzzle at this point is materialer what to use and how I will put things together.
At this stades I will move to sketchup to get more sense for the volume..
I moved from sketchup to maya, I chose maya because that is a program that I do not need to think about how and which tool I have to use to get that result I want. I import file from sketchup as obj and when I rigged the model then I realise that my design on the puppet is not working as I want the rotation does not work properly. so I did another one in maya which I think will work fine.
Explanation of product;
Puppet, I think I will start on using 2 sensors to control open/close mouth and one to control rotate of the head, I do not know that much about sensors, this is how I think this will work best.

Blend/Shape box, I did two versions, one with sliders and one with touch sensors, I'm not sure witch one I will use in the end I'm going for the touch. My design is to use 3 controls. I´m thinking value of -10 and default as 0 and + 10 and that will work fx for eyebrows 0 = normal -10 for surprised and +10 as angry..
