About me ...
I have always been fascinated with making things, however, I must admit my practical skills are not of the highest quality!
I believe that I have a practical mind, having been brought up by a father who was a pro in making anything he could imagine.
My background is in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I teach at the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Singapore Polytechnic. In the past 15 years, I have lost touch with electronics and microcontrollers, having being moved to administer the Networking, Security and Cloud systems of the school. Pic and Arduino were lost on me and even though I knew what they were, I had no part to play with them. The teaching with from Pic8 to Pic16 and then Arduino, in a flash of a lifetime.
I have been so engrossed in technology, the teaching of technology and course administration that I have lost touch with my roots.
It's time for a change !
I have always been lured by the equipment in the SP Fab Lab - the laser cutters, 3D printers and other faboulous and magnificent building machines and because of work commitments and responsibilities, forced to stay away from them. But, today, an oppurtunity has arisen which allows me to have a change in career and to discover my creativity.
I hope to learn much from this course, and to pass on these skills to the next generations after me.
