Week9：molding and casting

I prepare to cast the darts. I hope this week's darts can use as a final project for shooting.

export the .STL file and put it into CNC machine.
- In this week's assignment, I use Roland SRM-20 to do the job.
- import the STL file into Modela Player4
- click "New Process" buttom, select "Roughing" -> select 3mm end mill -> click "Next" to the end.
- Click "New Process" again, select "Finishing" -> select 3mm end mill -> click "next" to the end.
use double side type to secure the wood.

use VPanel for SRM-20 to set the end mill to Z-axes 0.
- click X+ / X- / Y+ / Y- / Z+ / Z- to move the drill.
- use "Cursor step" radio button to control the speed rate.
- after put the end mill at a little higher position on the wood, release the screw, let the end mill tool touch the wood and rescrew the screw. click "Set Origin Point" -> "Z" button to set the user coordinate system Z-axes 0.
back to Modela Player4 and click "Cut" button on the lower-right hand side.
after 6 hours. remove the scrap and take the result to molding step.

mix the silica gel and cure agents with 100:2 ratio.
after dispose the silica gel, I hurtle the mold from about 30 cm hight to remove the air bubble.

The ratio about the poly and cure agents is 10:1.
I try two different cure position:horizontal and vertical, after 8 attempts and it's done.
What I learn
- use Modela SRM-20 CNC to mill the 3D molel.
- pick the right material to to the casting.
