design the PCB layout with CAD software, such as Eagle, Autocad, ...ect, then, export the PCB layout with vector graphics format, such as .PNG file.
Import the image file into CAM software to generate G-code.
Import the G-code to the milling machine, secure the milling material, pick and set correct end-mill and mill it.
Milling the PCB with two different machine
In this weeks' assignment, I had tried to mill the PCB in two differents way:
1.Roland Modela MDX-20 with off-line version fabmodules.
2.Roland Modela SRM-20 with on-line HTML5 version fabmodules.
1.MDX-20
secure the fr1 PCB board with double-side tape.
use hex wrench to set-up the 1/64 milling tool.
use up/down button to control the drill, make sure the drill is close enough to fr1 board, release the drill little bit after confirm the drill is touch down to the board re-screw up it.
set the cutting z-asix(mm) to -0.4, click 'move to xmin, ymin' make sure the cutting area is fine, click make .rml to generate the cutting route and click 'send it!' to start the milling process.
