3D Scanning and Printing

The object that I wanted to study to carry out the exercise of a 3D scanner was performing a women's Chiapas artisan shawl of San Andres Larrainzar.
It was very important for me to make a detailed manalisis fabric, taking in consideration color, texture, thread, the knot with the former tissue. This shawl was handmade.

This is the piece that I will scan, but to do a funnier variation of this "rebozo", I made a frame with a 1 inch rope simulating big wires, which I fastened from one side to another, and around the stools in the lab.

Once I made the test shown, I started to put the scanner sensors each 7 cm in a grid across the triangular area where the scanner will perform.

I place a string in parts and placed sensors in order to know if it is possible to scan.

The scanner that uses a ZScanner 700 Rapid form of 3D model and program elements VX scannner is where the image is corrected.

I proceeded to do the scanned.

These are the images that were scanned and these had too many holes, I did not detect the string.

Before taking it to the 3D printing Object Eden 260, I had to make some changes in Rhino where the triangle mesh got heavy.

1 - The size was reduced to a smaller shawl.
2 - I had to work with each section closer.

Once it was fixed into the transport Rhino of Netfab, it was automatically preset to be send to print to the  Objec Eden 260 later on.

It was sent to print, the print time was 6 hrs. and 42 min.

This is the end result which contains a figure in a resin capsule.
There were two types of  resin used. One was a support resin and the other was a hard resin object Full Cure.

I Proceeded to the withdrawal of the support resin in order to obtain the printed piece.

The end of this task is the 3D printing, which retains the texture of the fabric and reach observe ture in parts of the threads.
It's fine the printing machine.
