3. Computer controlled cutting

This week we were introduced to laser and vinyl cutter.

Vinyl cutter

This week assignment was to cut something with vinyl cutter. As I just moved to apartment in Oulu, I needed stickers for the front door. Stickers will announce that I don't want any advert or free newspapers with my mail.

For desing I just went to Inkscape and made coople of text items and then looked for approb font.

After that I only needed to take fill away from the items and make sure stroke lines were visible.

I have used vinyl cutter couple of times before to make some prints for BusinessAsema doors. Cutting itself went uneventfull. With vinyl cutter it's same than all available devices at the lab I don't have regular inought usage for them. Hopefully this changes as I'm very interested to try my hands on cutting flexiple circuits.

Group assignment

This was first week with group assignments. We split to two groups and started working. I was part of group 1 with Essi and Petra. You can find our group work here.

For the group work we had to run several test with lab's laser cutter to determine its characteristics.
