My Final Project
Initial idea:
For the first week assigment about final project one of the ideas is a device for demostrading mechanical properties of 3D printed plastic parts. Properties that I hope to demonstrade are abrasion resistancy and mechanical thougness.
The aim is to use this device with couple of others ( demostrading impact resistance, tensile strenght and heat resistance) for the classes I'm planning starting next autumn. The device would contain two possible demonstrations one for using 3D printed bearing and other for 3D printed gears.Idea came from the machine I saw in the early 90's that was used to demonstate effect of oil lubrication in bearings. With the device you could show effects of the oil mixing with motor coolant or water and what happens if you lose oil reservoir in the car.
