7. Electronics design

Group assignment:

Use the test equipment in your lab to observe the operation of a microcontroller circuit board (in minimum, check operating voltage on the board with multimeter or voltmeter and use oscilloscope to check noise of operating voltage and interpret a data signal) Document your work (in a group or individually)

Check operating voltage using multimeter or voltmeter

Step 1:

The testing environment is like this.

The program keep flashing the LED per each one second.

The below image show that we are ready to use multimeter to measure operating voltage.

Step 2:

The below video show that we are using multimeter to read the operating voltage.

It is found that the voltage is between 0V and 5V

Step 3:

You will find that the multimeter display almost 0V and almost 5V. It is because the LED is keep flashing.

Step 4:

After that we use oscilloscope to test the operating voltage.

It is shown that it is about 4.6 V or 1V

Step 5:

The below video show that we are using oscilloscope to read the operating voltage.

It is a discrete signal. It is found that the voltage is between 4.6 V or 1V.

Step 6:

By adjusting the duration as 2ms.

You may read that the waveform is changed as below.

Step 7:

The below video show that we are using oscilloscope to read the operating voltage.

You may find that the waveform keep changing while LED keep flashing.

When LED is turned ON, the waveform is more wide.

However, when LED is turned OFF, the waveform is more narrow.
