Applications and implications
WHAT WILL IT DO?
Functional working place with two main components: a desk and a chair connected by Bluetooth. From the first sketch that I draw of the table until this moment, the evolution of the final project develops a lot. Anyway, it is more to work on it.
WHO HAS DONE WHAT BEFOREHAND?
I researched a bit around the old Fab Academy projects and I found great inspirations, ideas and also so similar projects like:
Chair seat: Javier Alboguijarro. Fablab Barcelona 2017
Chair back pattern: Alex Chair from Obrary website
Legs’s table: Rafael Aguirre. Fablab La Puebla 2019
WHAT WILL YOU DESING?
I will design the table from the beginning with the plugging and gadgets that I wanted.
WHAT MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS WILL BE USED?
WHERE WILL THEY COME FROM?
All of the material was provided by the FabLab of Höfn less the mirror that was bought on line.
HOW MUCH THEY COST?
On the picture below you can see all the detail of the materials.
WHAT PARTS AND SYSTEMS WILL BE MADE?
I made the structure of the table and chair. Once I got mill all the piece, I built it. Also, I create the electronic system from the beginning, adapting all the knowledge and material to the project and viceversa. So, everything was made it less the mirror, the hinges and parts of the electronics systems.
WHAT QUESTIONS NEED TO BE ANSWERED?
One of the tasks of the desk is to be able to up and down and incline.
HOW WILL IT BE EVALUATED?
First thing to evaluate was if the project will be good like a Fab Academy project. The simplicity of the sketches makes to run to the second round of brainstorming where the main question was, what can I add more that will perfect, my weakness: electronics. Indeed, from the first sketch until now is possible to see how was developing and improving. From a simple drawing table is becoming a real and good working place with electronics, chair, mirror, light box and a pomodoro system.
The seat will be static, and you can see the seat on week 7. Most of the material I could find them or order them in workshops and the lab.
Go through all the electronic devices and programs were the most difficult part for me and the hardest part of the evaluation.
