What was my problem ? Prevent dogs from eating in others’ bowl because you can’t always monitor what’s going on.

what type of cover ?

two risk i identified:

  • pinching the dog’s muzzle in the lid.
  • cover not strong enough

what type of additional features ?

the functions on the timetables, the detection of the dog with his tag implanted in the neck, The weighing of the food ration, with the monitoring of consumption, monitoring with smartphone, etc…

 What will it do?

principles.png

This device is made to feed animals, mostly dogs. it’s made even for home food and not only dry commercial food. that why it’s not and automatic dispenser but it’s a bowl.

the identification tag of the dog is detected, and the proximity of the dog is confirmed by the distance detector.

when the right dog is detected, the engine open the cover, if it’s time to eat even if the bowl is empty. After, time, end of eating, maximum of food eated, the cover is closer by the the engine.

the quantity of food eaten is measured and if the bowl is detected as almost empty, the owner is informed

Who’s done what beforehand?

     What will you design?
What materials and components will be used?
     Where will come from?
     How much will they cost?
What parts and systems will be made?
     What processes will be used?
What questions need to be answered?
     How will it be evaluated?
Your project should incorporate 2D and 3D design,
     additive and subtractive fabrication processes,
     electronics design and production,
     embedded microcontroller interfacing and programming,
     system integration and packaging
Where possible, you should make rather than buy
     the parts of your project
Projects can be separate or joint, but need to show individual
mastery of the skills, and be independently operable
