Week 13
Week 13: Applications and Implications
Assignment
Propose a final project masterpiece that integrates the range of units covered, answering the questions highlighted in the documentation
Q No .1 What will it do?
Ans: It will display time with smooth and attractive system.
Q No .2 Who's done what beforehand?
Ans: Much of the work is done before but all of them have analogue nature and unattractive display.
Q No. 3 What will you design?
I will be designing hexagonal clock which will smoothly track the time
Q No. 4 What materials and components will be used?
Ans: Since this is my final project so I will be using almost all skills. For example CNC milling, laser cutting, vinyl cutting, pcb milling, output interfacing and 3d printing. So for that I need following material and components
MDF wood for casing
Plan white paper for hexagons internal background
Acrylic sheet of size 4 feet per square for front hexagons
Addressable rgb leds (ws128b) quantity of almost 105 leds.
Arduino leonardo board for rgb leds programming
RTC board for clock programming
3D printing material for casing
Q No. 5 Where will come from?
Ans. All of them are available at Fab Lab Khairpur except mdf wood and acrylic sheet which I have bought from local market.
Q No.6 What parts and systems will be made?
Ans. Mdf body (casing) of clock, Arduino leonardo board, real time clock printed circuit board, hexgon shaped papers, 3d printed casing and acrylic hexagones.
Q No. 7 How much will they cost?
Ans. My expected bill of material is round about of $40. This cost may change.

Q No.8 What processes will be used?
Ans. There are many processes which can be used in this project. All of them are given below.
2D modeling using Inkscape: main mdf body of clock.
CNC Milling: cutting the 2d model of hexagone clock. Electronics: PCB designing of Leonardo board, and real time clock. Laser Cutting: Paper sheet for internal hexagones and acrylic sheet for outer hexagones.3D Printing: casing for pcb boards.
Programming: arduino leonardo for rgbs and rtc board for time.
Q No.9 What questions need to be answered?
Ans. Diffusion still remains unanswered.
Q No.10 How will it be evaluated?
Ans. The clock shall track time in correct way :!
