1. Principles and practices

This week I focused on developing a project idea for the final project.I am interested in making something that is personally meaningful and can be used to enhance my line of jewelry and accessories. Vending at indoor, outdoor, local, regional, and national events is my primary mode of income for my business. Regularly vending requires me to have an appealing display which displays all of the earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and other items that I make and sale. While having an appealing display is not difficult, ensuring that I have mirrors, appealing jewelry displays and proper lighting that can be used in any venue has become a challenge, especially when I am confined to a small space with no access to electricity for lighting so that customer can try on items and look at themselves in the mirror.

For this project, I plan to develop a mirror with appropriate LED sensory lighting that can be used in a variety of different settings. Given that majority of my items are made of wood, I plan to make a wood hand mirror in the shape of a woman’s hair silhouette. This mirror will be made of wood similar to the wooden hand mirror and the wooden silhouette jewelry displays that I currently use for vending events.
