Applications and Implication
This week’s assignment was:
-To explain the propose of the final project and answer the fallowing questions.
What will you design?
The conical vase, the support for it and an electronic board to measure temperature.
What processes will be used?
3D printing, Laser cutting, electronics design and production, input devices, networking and communication
What will it do?
It will separate the essential oils from the water using a “Vase I.A.C.
separator of essential oils lighter than water”. It will also be raised
by a wood support that I fabricated.
Who's done what beforehand?
I discovered this project by fallowing this university “Instituto
Federal de educação, ciência e tecnologia”. They did a similar project

Where will they come from?
Most of the materials will be provided by Facens Fab Lab and the other materials will be ordered online. Here is the

How much will it cost?
Approximately $300
What parts and systems will be made?
The essential oil separator, a support and a system that measure the oil temperature.
What tasks need to be completed?
Everything has been tested.
What questions need to be answered?
There is no question to be answered.
What is the schedule?
The goal was to finish in 6 months but between school and daily life I
was not able to complete the project. The new goal is to complete the
project by January, 2018.
How will it be evaluated?
The main purpose of the project is to separate the oil from the water
and have the oil drain into the cup. The final project will be
evaluated by not only separating the oil from the water but also
collecting the oil inside the cup.
What questions need to be answered?
1. Will my cone extract the oil by itself?
2. Are all the measurements for my designs correct?
3. Will my electronic board measure the temperature accurately?
4. Will i need to apply adhesive material or waterproofing material to keep the liquid inside the cone?
