Applications and Implications

WHAT I WILL DO:

As a first idea I wanted to make a smart home, but how to reach this goal if not even from the smallest
part, is through the program, I realize that can be taken as an idea, something from the smallest, as in this if only one cell will develop housing.
Which I shall permit a person to be in comfort throughout the year depending on climatic variables, besides
being able to control the entry of lighting, ventilation.  How something so small can do such great things.

WHAT I HAVE DONE:

In 2012 I made a submission with the Architect Maria Teresa Mendez, on a mesh of Junco (Juncus bufonius L.)
That's where I begin my research on natural materials from their fiber.
In the academy wanted to experiment with other materials such as bamboo great, because it has great physical ability and thanks to technology, I use machines like the Shopbot to solve problems such as the precision of a cut. This is one of the main problems of this material as it is in the meetings.

THE MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS THAT I REQUIRE:

But since this would in the case of natural materials would also experiment with the waste materials such as plastic bottles and to give a second use of this recycled material. In a house.
Before hand I have also complied with the relevant subjects that allow me to connect the various tasks and to follow the target. That is the development of this cell.

REGARDING THE COST:

The cost for this project is not defined yet, but materials such as plastic bottles can be achieved very easily without any cost. In Peru collect these bottles and bottles together several kilos in order to have their food.
The kilogram bottle is equivalent to 40 cents.
The other cost would be the servo, which in the international dialing range from 5 Euros or 24, 34 Euros. The latter by its features:
specs:
dimensions 66x30.2x64.4mm
20kg/cm Torque (4.8V), 25kg/cm (6V)
Speed: 0.20sec/60 ° (4.8V), 0.16sec/60 ° (6V)
Voltage 4.8-7.2V

Weight 160gr.
Temperature range 0 ℃ _ 55 ℃

WHAT PARTS AND THE SYSTEM WILL:

The pieces are the same bottles cut with the CNC, which will allow me to generate different couplings between them and the proper motion system.
In the same way working with the bamboo but this would be used with Shopbot to make the cuts.
The mechanism of the cell is planned to be the same material and there is not a hybrid, this is still under exploration but it is what arises in the same manner is repeated with bamboo.
The electronic system will be through the servo controller and by the time the temperature sensor. As you progress you could add other sensors.
THE PROCESS IS CARRIED OUT:

The process that need to produce the programming assigment is basically servo acting through an impulse that is generated by the sensor, for example, set the servo so that the sensor as you add or decreasing the temperature is leaves moving in the direction of clockwise or in the other direction. The other process could make the connection of the hybrid, the plastic bamboo. As this would be a set of cells and as these will work. This has yet to be decided, depending on weather
HOW INFLUENCED MODERN ARCHITECTURE?

The work aims to promote a change in the concept of modern buildings in the world, integrating technology as part of the sustainability concept.
Also to break cultural patterns generated by different economic sectors.
WHAT IMPLICATION HAS THE DIGITAL MANUFACTURING TOGETHER WITH ANCIENT TECHNIQUES?

Is to explore the interconnection that is taking place between the management concepts of the digital age applied to real solutions, in this case brought the issue constructively, allow us to produce new ideas such as, for example, self-sufficient habitat . And not leaving the ancient techniques but when resuming, to study and propose something better.

The existence of digital fabrication opens an unexpected way in terms of creative possibilities and the use of materials, as in this proposal, all-natural or even obsolete, which were otherwise difficult to solve.

ABOUT THE SCHEDULE

Both the work schedule and evaluation are related, because if I'm setting goals as time goes on and also depends on this evaluation. But overall, this project is an exploration as mentioned, there's obviously more to explore, I hope to beat the time and to continue exploring.

THE CONTRIBUTION

As for the contribution, I think it is significant because although there are already studies of home automation, or how this can be more efficient. My contribution is that you yourself can do it and not a company dedicated to the service. But I will have more doors for anyone to be able to get this intelligence in housing.

  Thank you.
