Week 17: Invention, intelectual property, and income

The assignment for this week was to develop a plan for dissemination of my final project.

I tried to make a soldering iron with a temperature-controlled soldering station that I put all the design files and the code online. Beside my fabacademy final project page, I am planning to put them in our fablab website and on github. For this exercise I will try processing.

From the beginning when I started to do this project, I was thinking about the design changes. Because I saw almost all the soldering Irons are looking the same. This is something I would like to look into in future.

The other thing I would like to experiment is the remove the cable for the Iron. I know it is not possible at the moment to send that amount of power on the air because I have worked in wireless charging industried before.

Working on that it is possible to share the design files and let interested people improve it. It is also possible to put it on the crowd funding websites to facilitate the progress of the project.
