Week 13 | Mid Term Review

During this week, the progress of the final project was presented and reviewed with the instructor. The objective of this milestone was to evaluate the level of development achieved so far, identify gaps, and define clear next steps toward the final delivery.

Project Status

At the time of the review, the project had advanced in concept definition, mechanical development, digital fabrication, electronics, and programming. A functional prototype was presented to demonstrate the core interaction of the system.

Concept and system definition: The overall idea and interaction were clearly established.
Mechanical development: Initial design and prototyping of key components were completed.
Digital fabrication: Most of the parts were manufactured using 3D printing.
Electronics: Basic integration of the microcontroller, sensors, and actuators was tested.
Programming: Preliminary code was developed to validate system behavior.

Project Timeline (20 Days of may)

The final phase of the project includes design refinement, fabrication, system integration, and documentation. Additional work was required to complete the petal fabrication and shaping process.

The workflow includes overlapping stages, especially during fabrication, integration, and validation. Documentation is developed in parallel to ensure a complete and accurate final submission.

Reflection

The midterm review was a key checkpoint to validate the direction of the project. It helped identify critical improvements needed for system integration and clarified the path toward achieving a fully functional and well-documented final project.
