Midterm Preperation
For miterm review week, I prepapred by created a couple of project management documents for my final project.
Gantt Chart
I created a very detailed Gantt chart to use as both a checklist and a schedule to keep me on track for my final project.
I broke my Gantt chart up into general sections based on what I thought I needed for my project.
The main sections I used were: Project Conception and Planning, Robot CAD Design, Electronics Production and Code Integration, Charging Chair Design, and Project Testing and Finalization.
I then broke down the chart by month with a section for prefab which was anything done before week 1, day 1 of Fab Academy 2026.
On my gantt chart I also have two timeline bars for each task.
The top timeline bar is for my expected completion of the task, and the bottom is the actual completion duration of the task.
I had a lot of hope starting a handful of tasks early on, but in reality early on I really only focused on design and concepts.
My Gantt Chart is a living document embedded in my final projects page, so you can see my prgress as I complete it!
Systems Diagram
I created my systems diagram using Google sheets.
It is not the prettiest document, but it gets the point accross.
I did try and play with Lucid Chart to create my systems diagram but I was not familair enough with it and I felt like it was taking longer to learn it than it would to make my chart elsewhere.
I do think Lucid Chart is a cool program though and I have intentions of learning how to use it better at a later time.
Bill of Materials
I created a bill of materials for my final project based on the components I know I will need, components Id like to get, and components I think I will need.
Minor changes to the bill of materials may happen as my final project progresses.
Project Documentation
I had already been updating my final project page with research, updates, and images of my project as I progressed.
My final project page has a section on my sketch and planning of my project all they way from week 1.
I also have updates from earlier weeks such as a timelapse video of my initial 3D design, my design and concept updates, my charging concepts as it evolved, my project research, and even how I named my project.
Still to come is me elctronics design for my final project, my screen setup, my chair design and build, my charging circuit design, my voice assistant training process, and of course my final project documentation.
Speaking of my final project documentaiton, I already started answering the required Final Project questions such as what my project does, who's done it before, what I designed, and materials used.
