As a Fab Academy student, I understand and accept the responsibilities that come with being part of this global network of digital fabrication laboratories. I commit to honest work, collaborative learning, and contributing to the advancement of digital fabrication knowledge.

Fab Academy Responsibilities

What the Fab Academy is committed to providing

Teaching principles and practices of digital fabrication

Arranging lectures, recitations, meetings, and events for the class

Evaluating and providing feedback on student work

Setting clear standards for completing assignments

Certifying and archiving student progress

Supervising class preparation

Reviewing prospective students, instructors, and labs

Providing staff and infrastructure for students, instructors, and labs

Fund-raising for costs not covered by student tuition

Managing and reporting on the program's finances, results, and impacts

Publicizing the program

Promoting a respectful environment free of harassment and discrimination

Encourage a diverse, accessible, and equitable community

My Responsibilities

What I commit to as a Fab Academy student

Attending class lectures and participating in reviews

Developing and documenting projects assigned to introduce and demonstrate skills

Honestly reporting on my work, and appropriately attributing the work of others

Working safely

Leaving workspaces in the same (or better) condition than I found them

Participating in the upkeep of my lab

Following sustainable practices

I will help my lab and other labs, with information, expertise, and development

I will contribute to the Fab Academy documentation and discussions

I will not copy and paste project documentation from other students

I will contact my local instructor (or the Fab Academy coordination) if I experience problems or have suggestions
