INNOVATION IN PERU
The National University of Central Peru, through a press conference, announced the outstanding achievements obtained by our institution in the iCAN 2024 International Invention Competition, held in Toronto, Canada, where they presented innovative technological projects that seek to transform various areas, from health to agriculture.
During this contest, UNCP faced 700 innovative projects from more than 50 universities and research institutes worldwide, managing to stand out and receiving recognition for four of its invention projects, which are already patented before Indecopi.
Among the most notable projects is the *Automated Mechanical Respirator* (9th Place – Best Inventions), designed by Armando Felipe Calcina Sotelo and his team. This innovative device uses a system of interconnected valves and cylinders, driven by an electric motor, to facilitate breathing for patients with respiratory difficulties by introducing oxygen-enriched air.
