About me

　 Hello, my name is Long Wai Chan, or you can call me David. Nice to meet you! 　

I am someone who enjoys handmade creations. So I really appreciate the philosophy of FabLab: Allow anyone anywhere to make (almost) anything. I hope to expand my horizons in this Fab Academy course, learn about various technologies.

Also as a perfectly timed, my baby was born just as the course began, so this year will be a big challenge. I hope I can manage everything well, and the skills, the ability learn from this course can be passed to the younger generation.

My Background

I am from Macau, China. With Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, which has provided me with a solid foundation in electronics and programming.

In my previous role, I worked in secondary education, focusing on STEM courses. During this time, I gained valuable experience in programming, modeling, and integrating projects. I am passionate about fostering creativity and innovation among students through hands-on learning.

Current Role

I’m an officer in the education department at Fablab Macao Science Center, which was established in Macao Science Center in 2023.

Fablab Macao Science Center located in the lobby of the Macao Science Center, which aims to promote science education for local youth, serves as a landmark building to complement Macao's tourism development, acting as a regional platform for science education and conventions, and facilitating the dissemination of advanced technologies and scientific knowledge.

As a member of the center, my main work goals focus on science education and managing the equipment within the lab. I hope to gain a deeper understanding and become more familiar with using the lab's tools through this course.
