About my design

Midterm Review

The search for inspiration

In searching for ideas for the final design, I discovered that there are great designers integrating movement into their artistic pieces. And in the world of textiles, I found 2 designers who make amazing things.
Learning about their work helped me understand how I could integrate an electronic system into the garment and the components I might need to replace.

CASEY CURRAN

Creator of chaos, pattern, and emergence concepts

Focus primarily in sculpture, but not limited to any specific medium, he create kinetic environments with an internal logic and history often propelled by a simple hand crank. He invite the viewer to become a part of the work through participation, animating a tableau of flora and fauna that bloom or flutter to life when activated.

Retractable system

how to make the wings move

This idea is very interesting, and could work depending on how many wings you can move.
In previous tasks I was already working with servomotors, so I need to think about how to integrate a servomotor system into a garment and make it not very invasive.
