About

Hello world! My name is Axel Olaf. I'm just a sentient set of atoms trying to orquestrate other sets of atoms.

Background

Currently I work as a field engineer for a German/American computer vision company. On regular working days I travel across Central/North America, but get to spend the weekend in the 6th most crowded city in the world: the equally beautiful and chaotic Mexico City.
My bachelors degree in mechatronics engineering in UPIITA-IPN gave me the skills to build almost anything, but the learning rythm and several other factors wore down the enthusiasm for it.
Now that time and effort have helped me heal, I'm ready to get hurt again by this fast paced fabrication program. Jokes aside, I feel excited about learning and complementing my skills while sharing time/space/ideas with interesting people from different education and cultural backgrounds.
If I share a complete list of my current interests/fav experiences I would never end, but here are some of them: specialty coffee, technology, arts, design, hiking, cycling, badminton, and businesses.

Projects

1. Ford's makerspace design.
2. Hand rehabilitation orthotic.
3. My own workshop/makerspace.
4. Remote controlled defense car.
5. 3D printing hub with a friend: @r3.prints

Skills

  • Polyglot: Spanish, English, Portuguese, German.
  • Problem solving.
  • Stubborn.
  • Adaptability. This push was made flying from MEX to ATL.
