WEEK 18
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
What tasks have been completed?
So far the soul of the project is resolved, the soothing lights come on, and the introspective questions appear on the screen, honest work I can say I'm proud of.
What tasks remain?
If with this question you question, what is missing from the main idea, I think it would only remain to try to integrate to all this the horn I originally wanted, it would be great to be able to solve this aspect in the near future.
What has worked, what hasn't?
So far, everything is working as expected, despite the strange situation with the OLED display.
What questions need to be resolved?
For when I continue with the project I think it is necessary to verify if the 5V amperage will still be sufficient when integrating the horn, or if I will have to change it and therefore add a regulator to the board to manage less voltage to what is necessary. I also think it is worth investigating if the application can be updated by the time I add volume and song options.
What will happen when?
In the future, when I take up the project to integrate the speaker part, it should work in conjunction with the lights to relax the user, likewise the offerings within the app should be adapted with soothing options such as white noise or radio frequencies rather than songs with lyrics that serve the function of bringing the people using it back to the present.
What have you learned?
It has been a long road, sometimes a little difficult to cope with different activities outside the program, but it has been a unique experience that opened my way to the world of programming and electronics. I have loved learning how to operate different machines, and knowing that these skills can be further enhanced during my time at the university and later in the workplace. I have enjoyed meeting people from different careers and specialties, people from other parts of the world and learning how to create good documentation that can help someone else. During the last months I was able to try possibilities that I did not know in the maker world, and today I have learned that I can do almost anything even with the limitations I have, because it is clear to me that even those limitations make the path a more interesting one to keep learning and opening possibilities.
As an industrial designer in training I am happy to say that I have been open to try new things, some far from what I could formally experience, and it has been a pleasure to know the possibilities that exist to continue creating in the future.
