DESIGN

Concept

My project is Mosq, its shape is born from the abstraction of the SPIRAL REPELLENTS, an insecticide that repels insects, especially mosquitoes and flies, the same at the time of being lit manages to create a cone of smoke that rises and disperses to the outside, that is why taking as a reference of form this pattern, the cone is developed as a container element, my product REVOLVES A METHOD OF HOMEMADE INSECTICIDE and integrates effectively the TECHNOLOGY + HOMEMADE TECHNIQUES.

Descripción de la imagen

Container element: The cone contains holes in a net pattern, which simulates the eyes of insects, simulates the parametric nature and its natural growth patterns, the union of the elements as a network and the way it is composed forming a whole, this container element has an integrated upper head.

Descripción de la imagen

Of the upper head: This head is a piece that enters the cone, it contains the blades that will be moved through the inner motor, this head is composed of slits where the blades are hooked, they can be the ones that come with the product or ‘ANY OTHER WINGS OF RECYCLED MATERIAL’ (such as strips of plastic bags, paper, etc.).

Descripción de la imagen

The contained element: The contained element is a white cone that is 10mm away from the main cone, this is where all the electronic parts and components will be located, this same element has two interior shelves that will be used to position the electronic board and the servo moto

Detachable base: This element is also attached to the body of the cone from the bottom, so that from here we can add the insecticide spiral or otherwise store the detachable blades.

User Experience

The ‘Mosq’ insect control device will be easy to transport, move and store, so its usefulness and ease of use is typical of its innovative and trendy style, Mosq comes in a compact box where you will find its parts, such as the detachable base and the blades, the rest of the body comes already assembled.

In this way, we can contemplate a complete model, safe in use and with an excellent design.

Descripción de la imagen

It is designed with handling limitations for the user, such as the electronic part, so that it is completely separated from the detachable part, it is shock resistant and also the blade system is designed to have a stop system in case external agents collide with them.

Descripción de la imagen

The device also contains a knob that regulates the voltage or speed of movement of the blades, so that it serves as a customizable setting, as well as a white LED that indicates the power of the piece.

Mosq can be placed on flat surfaces, on a kitchen countertop, on the dining table, on a shelf, on a counter, as long as it is connected to the power supply, its range is up to 1.50m and we can take it everywhere!

PCB Design

Among the parts I will be using are:

A Xiao RP2040, a 1k ohm resistor for the LED, a regulator knob, with a 4990 ohm resistor, a driver for a stepper motor, a stepper motor and a resistor and a mini speaker.I explain in this schematic how it would work:

Wiring Location & Operation

The cable routing for Mosq will be located in the following position, considering the location of the electronic board and the stepper motor.

Here is a more detailed drawing of the operation of the components and the passing of information.

FAILURES MODES

Possible errors

Some of the possible errors may be due to the sensitivity of the connections, in which the device suffers a fall and one of the parts may become unsoldered. For this reason, each connection shall be fastened in the following way and not only that, but the wiring shall have an internal route to avoid crossovers.

Noise, Overvoltage

In case of noise or if it is necessary to manipulate the electronic components, an external cover has been made to the white cone, which when removed with pressure we will be able to access the electronic body.

In case of overvoltage it will be necessary to remove the power supply of the device, so that it will be free to remove the cover and reconnect the wiring, from here the connection will be left visible to allow the free manipulation of the connections without affecting the inside of the device.

Descripción de la imagen

Wiring resistance

It is foreseen to use a wiring that is embedded in a thermo-shrinkable cable cover so that everything can be more organised, it is important to see beforehand the wiring route and to know which of them to manipulate, here is a diagram of the grouping of cables.

Disassembly

About the opening of the model, it is important to recognize that it will be disassembled, here a diagram of the pieces and how they will be removed.

Repair

For its repair, as announced above, the cover at the base can be special to allow direct manipulation to touch and manipulate the inside of the model.

Lifetime

The life time for this device is until it does not receive high voltage that is not the same as that needed by the board and each of the components (sound, motor, light), this would cause one of the OUTPUTS to burn and have to be changed, the most complex to change would be the stepper motor that is located at the top.
