Welcome to my Fab Academy site
hello, my name is Edem, a great enthusiast of computer science and tinkering, civil engineering and adventure lover. I have just embarked on a fascinating adventure that is the Fab academy, and you can follow my story through this logbook. 📒
what kind of projects are you going to do? 🤩
My project for the FabAcademy is to make a small robotic companion for my children. My life has changed a lot in the last two years because of thefts, so I decided to make a remote surveillance camera that can move around the house and also play with the kids. 😊
I think this project is very useful and fun, because it can help me keep an eye on my home and my family, and also provide some entertainment and education for my children. 🥰
The main components of my project are:
- A Raspberry Pi as the brain of the robot, which can run Python code and communicate with other devices via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. 🧠
- A Pi Camera Module as the eye of the robot, which can capture images and videos and stream them to my phone or computer. 👁️
- A speaker and a microphone as the mouth and ear of the robot, which can play sounds and record voices. 🎵
- A motorized chassis as the body of the robot, which can move forward, backward, left and right. 🚗
- A set of sensors as the nose and skin of the robot, which can detect temperature, humidity, light, distance, and touch. 🌡️
I expect to learn a lot of skills and techniques from the FabAcademy, such as how to design and fabricate PCBs, how to program microcontrollers, how to use digital fabrication tools, and how to document my work. 🙌
I am very proud of my project and I hope to share it with other people who are interested in robotics and digital fabrication. 😎
