Measuring the power consumption of an output device using multimeters is a practical technique for assessing energy usage and optimizing efficiency. Multimeters are versatile instruments that can measure voltage, current, and resistance, making them suitable for power measurements.

By multiplying this current value by the voltage across the device (which can be measured using the multimeter in voltage mode), you can calculate the power consumption in watts using the formula P = V × I.

It’s important to note that when measuring power consumption, it’s advisable to take multiple measurements over time to account for any fluctuations or variations in power usage. Additionally, for devices with variable power consumption, it may be useful to observe the power consumption under different operating conditions or load levels.

By measuring the power consumption of an output device using a multimeter, you can gain valuable insights into its energy usage.
