Future possibilities
Dream wheel
- Make foot pedal for better UX- this can probably be 3D printed and I can embed a potentiometer in it
- "Smarter" wheel- tracks how fast/slow you go on different parts of the clay process. This is good for consistency and maybe identifying when you should change your speeds.
- Pressure sensors- track pressure on the clay to give good the user useful feedback as well.
- Repeatable build process- Refine the building process for better consistency, including placement of the motor, compatibility with different motor types, replaceable electronics, and more detailed instructions
Pug boy
- Remote game play- Develop a dedicated multiplayer server to enable global game play going beyond the current peer to peer setup.
- Peripheral and input expansion- allow additional inputs (accelerometer, etc...) to enrich game play
- Educational electronics version- as mentioned in previous weeks, explore interest in an educational version where players can create their own AIs controlled by electronic components being fed the game state through analog voltage outputs.
- More games- ideally I'd make a few more games that are original (even though I do like the classics like Pong).
- Build a community of developers for Pug Boy games. This can be done by first improving the code base and make a workable game engine- To facilitate the creation of games by others more quickly
- Allow for making more complex games- bigger screen option to improve the gaming experience. Graphics engine would help too.
Dissemination plan
Dream wheel
As I have no plan to commercialize this project it will be made freely available on open source platforms like github.com and thingiverse.com to change so others can make a pottery wheel from scratch as well (ideally economically). Outside of that I'd like to make a few more for close friends and family. In local fab labs near them.
Pug boy
Similarly, I have no commercial plans for Pug Boy and this will be made a freely available open source project with the casing and code available on github.com
