12. Molding and Casting

 

Wax Block Mold Design

 For this week I wanted to do more than another simple design or project and decided to go for a city scape with some central buildings making up my logo. I went into Fussion 360 and made a solid block for my design base that was the same dimentions of the wax block, Length: 180mm Height: 39mm Width: 77mm. I started laying down a few 5mm squares for basic buildings then making larger ones about four times the size.







 Once I had a design I was happy with I started extruding the squares to make tall, medium, and then small buildings with a concentration of the tall buildings at the back middle and the other two types surrounding them in a step pattern.

Mold Cutting and Casting

 although the mold is fully designed I have yet to cut it out and pour the cast to finalize the creation of my model city.
