My Final Project is Automated Body Mass Index.
What will it do?
The reason of implementing Body Mass index machine(BMI Machine) comes from the problem I always observe of excess fats and obesity mostly for adults which are usually a danger for the personal health because it leads to chlonic diseases like: heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension,Then After realising this problem in my society and all over the world,from this I thought of combining all the skills I gained to make BMI machine which displays weight,height,BMI and recommendations regarding to the BMI status,An added value for this will not only be used in some specific places rather can be used wherever even on the family level.
Who's done what beforehand?
Actually at the Fab Academy there is no project which is similar to BMI machine though the sensors I'm planning to use have been used,But after conducting a research on different people who designed and implemented BMI Machine,it opens my mind to some extent for my project though many similar project proposal are not open source, it requires to pay some fees and what I spend more time was theoretical part and the design of BMI have been accessed through Google search there are many BMI machines in different platforms for selling.

I can group my design into 2 Parts which are: Mechanical and Electronic part.

Where will come from?
Some of the components and materials I will use are available in my Lab and those which are not available will be ordered from Local suppliers like nyereka Tech or Faranux this is for electronic components, and Plywood materials will bought from Local Carpenter shops

What parts and systems will be made?
I will build the main PCB boards of the system and I will design,cut,and Print the frame of the system.
What processes will be used?
For the design of the frame I will use Solidworks for CNC Cutting, Laser Cutting and 3D printing,Photoshop for feet symbol and using the Vinyl cutter,To design and manufacture the electronic boards I will use Kicad and the milling and soldering process. For the programming of the microcontrollers I will use Arduino.
What questions need to be answered?
BMI Machine will act as tool for assessing weight status and potential health risks associated with weight. Based on the results obtained from BMI calculations, individuals and healthcare professionals can make informed decisions and take appropriate actions to manage weight and improove health.
How will it be evaluated?
