Week 17: Invention, Intellectual Property and Business Models
Assignment
Developing a plan for the dissemination of DsBOX project.
Preparing drafts of DsBOX project's summary slide (presentation.png, 1920x1080) and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~10 MB) and put them in my website’s root directory.
Dissemination Plan for DsBOX Project
My final project is the design and implementation of the Digital Suggestion Box for Service Quality Assessment (DsBOX), a tool to get customer feedback on how well a particular office served them. DsBOX allows customers to rate the nature of administration they got by squeezing a button that compares to their degree of fulfillment. After that, the feedback is saved in the memory of the device and sent to a server, where management can use graphs to analyze the data and make decisions based on the feedback.
I am planning to do a social media marketing on the necessity of DsBOX while involving my working institution as it is mandated by the government of Rwanda to plan and coordinate the implementation of national ICT for Development Agenda in order to digitize government services and ensure easy access by the citizens.
Future Possibilities
Due to limited time while doing Fab Academy, I did not have enough time maximize all possibilities of DsBOX. For now, it is based on customized questions to evaluate service delivery by which a user has to associate them with a listed level of satisfaction. But very soon I want to add to it another feature by which a user come and record his feedback vocally and the voice will be save as a file in the interface application so that authorized staff will be able to receive and play voiced feedback. Because here in Rwanda there are few people who do not know how to read.
The Digital Suggestion Box for Service Quality Assessment (DsBOX) holds immense potential for future development and impact. By leveraging advancements in machine learning and natural language processing, the DsBOX can evolve into an intelligent feedback system capable of automatically categorizing and analyzing suggestions, providing valuable insights to service providers. Integration with customer relationship management (CRM) platforms can enhance the feedback loop, enabling real-time response and personalized customer experiences. Collaboration with industry stakeholders and implementing user-friendly mobile interfaces can broaden the DsBOX's reach, fostering widespread adoption and increased engagement. By prioritizing continuous improvement, user feedback, and technological advancements, the DsBOX can transform these possibilities into tangible probabilities, revolutionizing service quality assessment in various domains.
Intellectual property rights
Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind: everything from works of art to inventions, computer programs to trademarks and other commercial signs.
Intellectual property rights are the rights given to persons over the creations of their minds. They usually give the creator an exclusive right over the use of his/her creation for a certain period of time.
The DsBOX project is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License, granting users the rights to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material as long as it is for non-commercial purposes and proper attribution is provided to the original author. If you choose to remix, adapt, or build upon the material, you must apply the same license terms to the modified work.

The Business Model
The appropriate business model for the DsBOX project could be a Freemium model. Under this model, the basic features and functionalities of the Digital Suggestion Box for Service Quality Assessment (DsBOX) could be offered for free to attract users and build a user base. Additional premium features, such as advanced analytics, and voiced feedback, can be offered as paid upgrades.
