Design Rules
Here is a link to my group's documentation for this week!
This week our lab split up into three groups and each group tested the design rules of a different printer the Prusa Printer, FormLab Resin Printer, and the BambuLab Printer. We all printed a test file that demonstrates the printer's abiliy to handle overhangs, bridges, and precise measurements. My groups used the resin printer. Here are my major takeaways:
- the resin printer is very precise in terms of sharp details yet some of the large bridges were deformed
- the resin printer was very good at printing overhangs
- the prusa printer was not very good at printing extreme overhangs (
~80 deg
) - the prusa printer was not very precise compared to the resin printer interms of exact dimensions of the model
- the prusa printer was very good at printing bridges even if they started out a little stringy
- the bambu printer was similar to the prusa printer but it was able to handle overhangs and longer bridges better
