19. Project development¶
Complete your final project, tracking your progress:

Responding to Project information¶¶
What tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?¶
Complete tasks
- Identifying and thinking about the need
- 2D and 3D structure
- Single sided PCB (for sensors and controller)
- Parts found, some local and some purchased on AliExpress (ATTiny44 microcontroller)
- Assembly and connection of the parts according to the original design.
Remaining tasks
- Tank level control software.
- Testing and calibration if necessary.
- Filming process and documentation.
- Previous final presentation
In the list we can see our progress to 90 %:
What’s working? what’s not?¶
What works
- Detect the water level (high level and low level).
- Turn on the water pump and turn it off
- Read data from non-contact sensors
- LCD display works correctly
- ATTiny44 PCB works properly
- Manual faucet does not drain water from the tank.
- Tank module fits exactly with the fittings
What doesn’t work
- I need to improve the project program.
- The video of the project is still in the process of being made.
- The connections and cables are loose, I need to tidy it up for better presentation.
What questions need to be resolved?¶
Two things: The filling and emptying time of the water tank and the consumption of the water pump motor, according to the manufacturer it says 12V, 2A. I need the real consumption to supply a source that supports this current when the whole system is running.
What will happen when?¶
If it fills the tank too slowly, I should look for another water pump that has a higher flow per minute. I have a 1.5 A source, if necessary I should replace it with a higher amperage source, probably a switch type source which are small and light.
What have you learned?¶
In the last weeks I have learned a lot! The electronic hole making productions with the Monofab was very new to me, also the topic of CNC milling was something I hadn’t used in conjunction with the laser cutter. What I learned the most is time management, for my next bigger project, I have to work on my time management! A lot of things were done at the last minute, resulting in a lot of stress and moodiness....
But I really enjoyed it nonetheless, and that’s what counts :)
