About Me
My name is Alberto González Espinosa, I'm 24 years old and I live in Getafe, a growing city next to Madrid, known for its state of the art aviation industry and its football team (maybe that's why you've heard of it, but I couldn't care less about football). I studied a double degree in Automotive Engineering and Industrial Design because I wanted to become a car designer.
Cars and Nature are my two biggest passions. I've always loved nature since I was a kid. As much as I enjoy to drive my modified car on a winding road to the mountains, when I get there, I love to hike, I like to go on long trails where you need to camp in the middle of the mountains, I love to feel in contact with the surroundings, enjoy the scenery... Thats's where I really feel free and relaxed. I also feel very comfortable building a racecar in a shed with my friends, but that's another story for another day.
I am an engineer and industrial designer, specialized in the automotive field. I love everything that has to do with personal mobility and have a special love for the things that have wheels. Since childhood I have always had a huge passion for cars and racing, and I feel a special attraction for innovation, electric propulsion, sustainable design and state-of-the-art engineering , and probably that's why I love endurance motorsport competitions like LeMans or the Dakar rally so much. I also love Formula One and some years ago worked for a motorsport championship in Spain.
I got my first experience in new prototyping technologies such as additive manufacturing (3D printing) and laser cutting during my time at the University, when I worked for my second internship at the new (at the time) FabLab they were putting together, now FabLab Nebrija, and I became familiar with new production technologies, in addition to gaining experience in dealing with students, helping them in their projects and participating as support in some workshops and classes.
After finishing the double degree and enjoying my Erasmus experience in Italy, in December 2019 I was looking forward to start working in a company where I could combine design and engineering, and if possible, in the field of automotive, but in February 2020 I got a call from another FabLab, FabLabUE, at the core of the Faculty of Architecture, Engineering and Design of the Universidad Europea de Madrid, where I'm currently the coordinator and I teach and help the students everything I know about digital design and prototyping, and I'm so happy and grateful, as I feel at home here.
I have an open mind, desire to improve, I am passionate about custom design and I am comfortable working in a team, adopting systematic design and simultaneous and collaborative engineering.
You can easily get in contact with me, writing an email at agonzalespidesign@gmail.com, because the "Get in touch" section below does not work at the moment (apologies for the inconvenience).
