PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES

1.WEEK

*FIRST IDEA*

For the first week we had to sketch our idea for the final project and describe what it will do and who will use it.

I already mentioned that I work as a lifeguard in Zagreb so for the final project I wanted to make something that could help in saving lifes.

FINAL PROJECT SKETCH

So here you can see first sketch for my final project. Maybe it's hard to tell but it's "Extrication Collar" that should be used in case of bigger accidents if there is suspicious of spinal injury, but this one is gong to be easier to use and it's going to have some cool features...that is the plan. Idea is also to add some of the sensors, maybe some heart rate, blood preasure, also sensors that could indicate when the injured person is going to shock phase so the ambulance crew could react in time.

Extrication collar Extrication collar

This is the basic look of the extrication collar that is used by ambulance crew. As you can see by the photo it has only one funcion...immobilization of neck. My idea is also to figure out other ways how to put it on. I think there is only one way, well we are using only one way in lifeguard team and I want to make it easier to use it. So i tought about the clips from the bike shoes and with the halp of them we could put the extrication collar from 4 different directions.

*SECOND IDEA*

As you can see there are two ideas. At first there was only one but then I got picked up on random generator by Neil and he told me that my idea of extraction collar is not bad but that is going to be hard to measure blood pressure and heart rate in that way. He also said that idea is good for some kind of smart neckless, but I’m not really interested in jewelry at this moment. So I thot once again and come to idea to make some kind of lamp, of course smart lamp and to use as many learned stuff in Fabacademy as possible. Now I give you my rough ideas and sketches of lamps that I would like to make, it shoud be atractive lamp for home use and the smart part of it would include temperature and humidity sensor, ultrasonic distance sensor, LCD for tracking, IR movement sensor, two type of LEDs and maybe gas sensor that indicates methane in the air. For material, I would like to use plywood, plexiglass, printed PLA and silicon from molding.

As you can see in this idea I have two designs on my mind. Right now don't know which one would I make, but bouth of them have same principe of working, only different design.
