Week 19
Invention, Intellectual Property and Business
MOOD OF THE WEEK
Last real week, mainly focused on the final project but trying to find time to do this week's challenge.
I know some stuff about intellectual properties and have an idea about how to disseminate my project.
I hope it will fit well ! It will be shorter than usual, but still hope you'll enjoy it :)
Invention, Intellectual Property and Business
This week's assignments :
- Group assignment
- No group assignment !
- Han Solo assignment :
- develop a plan for dissemination of your final project
- prepare drafts of your summary slide (presentation.png, 1920x1080) and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~10 MB) and put them in your root directory
Han Solo Assignment
Decide how this project will be disseminated ?
I already have some tracks and people interested by my final project. Here are some of the uses I think about (it's easier for me to think with pen and papers, hope you'll find it clear enough) :
The different kinds of licences
As you can see in my sketch note, you can see that I want my project to be open-source, which means it has to respect 4 important rules :
- free to use
- free to study how it was made
- free to make copies of it
- free to modify and distribute it again
Open-source licences is a pretty vast world. I have to choose between the different ones. I'm gonna check about the licences Creative Commons, that constitutes the different conditions of use and reuse of masterpieces (especially those on the internet, which is precisely my case). Here is a spectrum of the different licences :
After looking at this spectrum, I think the only thing that could bother me would be that my project is used for commercial use. I'm gonna choose carefully the initials I'm gonna put on it then :)
To help me, I went on the Creative Commons website that helps you find the right licence ! You just have to answer some simple questions and the initials/logo will appear :)
Here is my final choice :
This means : the wooden book is under Creative Commoncs licence, is free to use and reproduce by people but cannot be use for commercial purposes.
By looking at this board of the seven most used licences, you can see it is in it !
Make a summary slide
First I made my summary slide by hand. Enjoy it :)
I made it again on Canva. I love this online software to make presentations. Here is what it looks like :)
