Project Development

What tasks have been completed? What has worked?

The prototype of the console made of cardboard has been lasercutted and assemblied with some knobs to test the user experience.

The test of the soft sensorsmade of silicone have worked great and are responding when you stretch the sensor.

The design of the console is almost finished, I just have to make it some changes on the panel configuration of the sensors.

What tasks remain? What hasn't worked?

I need to design the board using the multiplexer CD4051BM and the connectors for the input devices that will be connected to the console. After that I need to fabricate the board and sold the components, program it and see if everything works fine with the sensors.

I have to 3d print the console and lasercut the panels for the sensors

I have to design the shape of the final soft sensor and fabricate the mold with foam.

What questions need to be resolved?

Does a bigger soft sensor will work and what shape should it have for the users to feel confortable bending and twisting it?

What is the best speed of baudrate for transmitting multiple input data to Processing?

What have you learned?

What I learned the most has been in the project management area:

Spiral development (or any project management tool or methodology that you choose) is fundamental to finish the project on time. I have failed many times on doing things on time, and that is because I didn't managed the time of the tasks correctly.

Being honest on your own journey on the project is fundamental too, because at the end of this project, I'm the one learning in which things I failed and in which things I succeded, and after being honest on this, other persons can try to avoid my mistakes.

I have also learned that having fun in a project is a very important part for it to succeed.
