On this week it was requested to design something mechanical.
I decided to take the often known as pan-tilt camera an adapt it to my final project.
Since I already had a kaleidoscope toy and a web cam I started to model the parts and componets on Solidworks inspired by the press fit connections used on the MTM Snap milling machine and adapt it to my project.
A quick video tour around the work (still in progress) since I want to apply 3 rotation axis using 3 individual stepper motors and have more orientation and direction control. Still have to work on the gears design and other fixing and movements details. I will try to use lasercutting to later prototype a model and check the snaps and rotation movements...
I got to work further more on this mechanical model always trying to reduce the material excess to the bare minimum so it could perform and integrate all features and components needed.
